Art Basel’s 2024 edition in Basel is about to open its doors, brimming with world-class art, new activations, and unique experiences. Here is all the information you need for an unforgettable visit.

First off, head to our website to browse our many ticket options, including our new exclusive Premium+ and Premium+ Discovery offers, as well as tickets for our Parcours Night (on June 12) and Unlimited Night (on June 13).

Make sure to download our floor plan to find your way around the fair. You can also prepare your itinerary by exploring Art Basel’s sectors, from the spectacular Unlimited, curated by Giovanni Carmine and dedicated to monumental artworks, to Film, curated by Filipa Ramos and Marian Masone, which presents today’s most visionary artists’ cinema.

With 285 participating galleries, there is a lot of art to discover on the show floor. For a curated Art Basel experience, book a guided tour – or take yourself on a self-guided one – in the main sectors of the fair, as well as in Unlimited and Parcours.

Free and open to all, our public program features several activations across Basel. Curated for the first time by Stefanie Hessler, director of the Swiss Institute in New York, the Parcours sector has been revamped and moved to Clarastrasse, a long street that links the fair’s halls to the Rhine River. This year, it explores ideas of transformation and circulation in processes of trade, globalization, and ecology through site-specific and newly produced works by 23 artists including Alvaro Barrington, Stephanie Comilang, and Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster in collaboration with Paul B. Preciado.

Meanwhile, on Messeplatz, eco-pioneer artist Agnes Denes has installed a new edition of her iconic wheatfield, first presented in Lower Manhattan in 1982.

Another new initiative is the activation of the Hotel Merian, a stone’s throw from the fair, which will host continuous artistic programming from Tuesday, June 11, including a karaoke bar night, discussion panels, and dance performances.

Curated this year by Berlin-based critic Kimberly Bradley, the Conversations program will explore topics including the role of museums as interdisciplinary hubs and the subversive potential of humor. Conversations will feature speakers including Mire Lee, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, and Ligia Lewis, as well as collaborations with Kunstmuseum Basel and Art Week Tokyo. Browse the full program and secure your free seat here.

A rich events program awaits you, with openings, parties, breakfasts, and more held by partner institutions. You can learn more about Basel’s museums and their exhibitions during the fair on our cultural institutions page.

Be sure to stop for a shopping break at The Art Basel Shop, a concept store offering objects designed by artists, limited editions, books, and a capsule collection curated by retail visionary Sarah Andelman.

A wealth of catering options will be accessible to visitors inside and around the fair’s halls. For those seeking extraordinary gastronomy, reserve a seat at We Are Ona creative culinary studio. The pop-up restaurant, designed by Pierre Marie, will be hosted from June 9 to 15 at filter4, a former municipal water tank in Basel, and curated by Chef Sayaka Sawaguchi, a recipient of the Michelin Green Star.

To prepare for your visit, familiarize yourself with our visitor policy, book your hotel room, and dive into a wide variety of articles, interviews, and films on Art Basel Stories.
