Art Basel is launching Art Basel Live, an ambitious digital offering designed to amplify Art Basel Hong Kong 2021, the company’s first physical fair since 2019.Art Basel Live will not only encompass enhanced Online Viewing Rooms but also a host of livestreamed events and virtual experiences. A daily broadcast shot at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) will be shared&nbsp;with global audiences every day at 8pm HKT (2pm CEST) on Art Basel's website and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/artbasel/" target="_blank">Facebook page</a>, as well as&nbsp;on the Chinese platforms Yitiao and Zai Art.&nbsp;‘Art Basel Live is an important step forward building on our Online Viewing Rooms, adding a rich digital layer to the physical experience of exhibiting and viewing art from across the globe,’ says Marc Spiegler, Global Director, Art Basel. ‘We are excited to launch a parallel digital program that brings the excitement and vibrancy of the in-person show to audiences worldwide and look forward to the creative opportunities this new model will present for us and our galleries.’Highlights from the broadcast include exclusive content featuring&nbsp;<a href="https://www.artbasel.com/catalog/artist/11158/Takashi-Murakami" target="_blank">Takashi Murakami</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.artbasel.com/catalog/artist/9670/Su-Xiaobai" target="_blank">Su Xiaobai</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.artbasel.com/catalog/artist/9868/Theaster-Gates" target="_blank">Theaster Gates</a>, and collector Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, as well as unboxing videos showing rare artworks being taken out of their crates, and mini reportages on exhibitions and events around Hong Kong.‘Art Basel Live: Hong Kong will allow us to bring the exceptional presentations of our galleries and the exciting cultural offerings of Hong Kong to our global network of collectors and patrons, including those who may not be onsite with us in 2021,’ says Art Basel’s Director Asia Adeline Ooi.Art Basel Live also features a series of online conversations bringing together thought leaders from Asia and beyond. Among them is the not-to-be-missed panel&nbsp;<a href="https://www.artbasel.com/events/detail/20399/The-Art-Market-2021-China-Focus/13474" target="_blank">‘The Art Market 2021: China Focus’</a>, which will look at the most recent developments in the world’s second-biggest art market hub.
