‘Tales & Tellers’, presented by Miu Miu A project conceived by Goshka Macuga and convened by Elvira Dyangani Ose 
The Palais d'Iéna, a masterpiece conceived by architect Auguste Perret and a Parisian symbol of modernism, with its concrete structure and neoclassical elegance, will present the special project 'Tales & Tellers'. This extraordinary project is made possible by Miu Miu, the official partner of the Art Basel Paris public program this year.
‘Tales & Tellers’ conceived by interdisciplinary artist Goshka Macuga and convened by Elvira Dyangani Ose, Director of MACBA, Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona. The special project will draw from two key creative ventures initiated by Miu Miu prestigious, bi-annual film commission Women’s Tales, which since 2011 has invited female filmmakers such as Mati Diop, Miranda July, and Alice Rohrwacher to present their own view of vanity and femininity, as well as the videos taken from the artistic interventions from Miu Miu runway shows since Spring/Summer 2022 by artists such as Sophia Al-Maria, Cécile B. Evans, and Jeong Geum-hyung presented in the frame of the brand’s runway shows since 2021. ‘Tales & Tellers’ will also include performances, and screenings of all commissioned short films, combined with a program of panel conversations bringing together the artists from the shows and the directors of Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales.

Goshka Macuga is a Polish multidisciplinary artist, working in London. Macuga&rsquo;s practice is based on historical and archival research, which informs multidisciplinary practice. The role of a curator, historian, and exhibition designer has been often attached to her practice. As an artist she questions historiography, political structures, and the pressing issues of our time as a form of institutional critique. In 2019, Macuga was commissioned to make a large-scale tapestry for the Museum of Modern Art, New York. She has staged solo shows at galleries around the world, including New Museum, New York, Whitechapel Gallery, London, Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland Tate Britain, London, Fondazione Prada, Milan and Prada Rong Zhai, Shanghai. Macuga was included in Documenta 2012 and nominated for the Turner Prize in 2008. She was elected a Royal Academican in 2024.

Goshka Macuga

Currently the director of the Museu d&rsquo;Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), Elvira Dyangani Ose&rsquo;s theoretical work has often focused on new forms of environment and platforms produced by artists in the absence of conventional institutions and contexts. She has been the director and chief curator of The Showroom in London, a lecturer in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London, an advisor at Tate Modern Advisory Council, and a member of the Thought Council, Fondazione Prada. She has previously served, among other roles, as curator of the G&ouml;teborg International Biennial of Contemporary Art; curator of international art at Tate Modern, London; artistic director of Rencontres Picha - Lubumbashi Biennial, Democratic Republic of the Congo; and senior curator at Creative Time in New York. She studied for a Doctorate in History of Art and Visual Studies at Cornell University in New York, an MA in Theory and History of Architecture from Universitat Polit&egrave;cnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, and a BA in Art History from Universitat Aut&ograve;noma de Barcelona.
