	<em style="font-weight: bold;">The War That Never Was</em><strong>, 36’37”</strong><br/>Wednesday March 28 | 4pm&nbsp;| HKAC (Rerun in room N102, HKCEC)From self-portrait to family chronicle to eyewitness account of historical events, his program explores some of the ways in which history may be filtered through an artist‘s lens. Individual stories are set against the backdrop of larger geopolitical forces, both seen and unseen. In the virtual world, it is not always apparent where - or whether - the events depicted have actually occurred. But images of people, objects and places matter; sounds and voices have become a symphony of history. 	<strong>Wang Xiaoshuai |&nbsp;<em style="background-color: initial;">Days Gone By – Yu </em><em style="background-color: initial;">Hon</em><em style="background-color: initial;">g</em> (2009)</strong><strong>, 68’57"<br/></strong>Wednesday March 28 | 7pm | Theatre 2, HKCEC<br/>This documentary depicts the multifaceted Yu Hong - wife, mother, teacher, artist and celebrity - from the perspective of her filmmaker friend, Wang Xiaoshuai. It is also a continuation of Wang Xiaoshuai’s fiction film “The Days” (1993), in which Yu Hong had starred as the female half of an artist couple in crisis. The documentary examines the generational experience of Yu Hong, Wang Xiaoshuai, and their peers. Thanks to Wang Xiaoshuai’s decades-long friendship with Yu Hong, “Days Gone By” transcends the narrative of an individual artist and encapsulates the rise of the Chinese art scene during a drastically changing era.

	<b style="background-color: initial;">Wang Bing | Mrs Fang (2017), 102<br/></b>Friday March 30 | 4m |&nbsp;HKAC (Rerun in room N102, HKCEC)<br/>Fang Xiuying was a farm worker born in Huzhou, Fujian in 1948. For the last eight years of her life she suffered from Alzheimer‘s. Treatment in a convalescent home was ineffective, so in June 2016 she was sent home. Wang Bing shot scenes of her everyday life in 2015, then returned in June and filmed the last ten days of her life. 	This program revisits the video art collections initiated by Videotage and Nam June Paik Art Center. The selected videos consider the pioneers in the field of video art of the past few decades. They call for an understanding of different generations of video art in the context in which they were made. By assembling a variety of regional, temporal and artistic perspectives, this screening program will re-reinterpret the experience of the here and now, delve into potentially excluded narratives and make visible the fragments of realities corresponding to video art’s own set of conventions and history.&nbsp;See more&nbsp;
