Art Basel’s 2021 Hong Kong edition postponed

In response to the ongoing impact of the global pandemic and related travel restrictions, Art Basel has decided to postpone the upcoming edition of Art Basel Hong Kong. The 2021 edition of Art Basel's Hong Kong show&nbsp;will now take place at the&nbsp;Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre&nbsp;from May 21–23, 2021, with Preview Days on May 19&nbsp;and May 20, 2021.&nbsp;


	This measure has been taken to protect the health and safety of Art Basel’s community and staff. ‘We believe shifting the fair to May is the right decision given the current development of the pandemic and its impact on international travel restrictions,’&nbsp;says Adeline Ooi, Art Basel's Director Asia.&nbsp;‘By taking the decision early, our aim is to support our galleries in advance planning for their 2021 programs. We very much look forward to hosting our show in May next year and to welcoming gallerists, collectors, and art lovers back to Hong Kong at that time.’&nbsp;
	
	In the meantime, Art Basel is focusing on&nbsp;<a href="https://www.artbasel.com/hkspotlight/overview" target="_blank">Hong Kong Spotlight by Art Basel</a>, a showcase of 22 Hong Kong-based galleries, all of whom have participated in previous editions of Art Basel Hong Kong, at Fine Art Asia from November 27–30, 2020.&nbsp;
	
	
	The next edition of Art Basel’s Online Viewing Rooms – ‘<a href="/ovr">OVR: Miami Beach</a>’ – will take place from December 4 to 6, 2020, with VIP Preview days from December 2–4, 2020, and feature&nbsp;leading international galleries who were accepted to the 2020 edition of the Miami Beach show.&nbsp;
