<p>Monster Chetwynd&rsquo;s<em> Lanternfly Ballet</em> transforms Pacific Place into a surreal, shifting ecosystem as well as an arena of play, ritual, and spontaneous choreography. This newly commissioned, site-specific work is both a theatrical installation and a fleeting performance, where sculpture, sound, and movement collide to create an ever-evolving encounter. At the heart of the installation are three monumental sculptures of so-called lanternflies, Chetwynd transforms this long been misunderstood creature into a romantic narrative, weaving a departure from scientific fact into a more intuitive, theatrical vision. The lily pads, formed through a bricolage of watercolors, cut-outs, and assemblage, extend Chetwynd&rsquo;s distinctive handmade aesthetic. At select moments, the installation erupts into live performance. A duo of dancers will animate the space, performing a choreography devised by Chetwynd specifically for Hong Kong. As the score reverberates through Pacific Place, the dancers become extensions of the lanternflies, flickering between presence and disappearance, poised between control and abandon. Beyond these activations,<em> Lanternfly Ballet</em> remains an open invitation, a work that encourages participation, reshaping itself through the movement of visitors. Residents, travelers, and passersby can drift into its orbit, free to step onto the lily pads, navigate its forms, and interpret its unfolding drama. The piece invites audiences to engage with change whether through movement, spectacle, or quiet observation, mirroring the transient, ever-unfolding nature of public space.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Monster Chetwynd的《Lanternfly Ballet》將太古廣場轉變為一個超現實且不斷變化的生態系統，同時也是一個遊戲、儀式與即興編舞的舞台。這件全新委約創作的場地特定作品，既是戲劇性裝置，也是轉瞬即逝的表演藝術，雕塑、聲音和動作在此碰撞，創造出持久變幻的邂逅。裝置的核心是三件巨型<span data-teams="true">長鼻蠟蟬</span>雕塑，Chetwynd將這種長期以來被誤解的生物轉化為浪漫敘事，將科學事實編織成更具直覺性且更富戲劇性的景象。荷葉由水彩、剪紙和拼貼藝術組成，延續了Chetwynd獨特的手工美學。裝置在特定時刻會突然變為現場表演，兩位舞者將為這個空間注入活力，呈獻Chetwynd專為香港編排的舞蹈。當音樂在太古廣場回蕩時，舞者化為<span data-teams="true">長鼻蠟蟬</span>的延伸，在存在與消失之間閃爍，在控制與放縱之間徘徊。在這些活力四射的時刻之外，《Lanternfly Ballet》始終如同一個公開的邀請，隨著人來人往而重塑自身。居民、旅客和路人都可以自由地步入其中，踏上荷葉，在其間穿行，詮釋其中徐徐展開的故事。作品邀請觀眾通過身體的動作、觀賞或觀察來參與變化，反應出公共空間瞬息萬變的本質。</p>
