Bernard Jacobson started his career in London in the 1960s as a journalist, this led him to befriend many artists in Swinging London. On his way to Los Angeles to meet the Beach Boys and write a novel, he stopped in New York and worked at a print shop.
Returning from New York Jacobson became a print dealer and published prints by stars of the London scene – Howard Hodgkin, Bruce McLean, Richard Smith, and William Tillyer. Later Jacobson published prints by Ed Ruscha and Joe Goode.
