Founded in London in 1946, Marlborough initially established its reputation as the leading gallery for modern Masters such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee and Edvard Munch.
The 1960s saw significant changes in the programme which championed contemporary British artists including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, Frank Auerbach and Victor Pasmore.
