The value of the whole, and each of its components, should be assessed in strictly non-monetary terms. Additionally, the whole, and each of its components, have compounded identities and sale values derived from an ongoing emotional exchange between between giver and receiver over the years.
For as long as the whole and/or its components giver(s) and receiver(s), exist in tangible form, both giver and receiver are in a state of debt, at varying points in time.
