Jorge Pardo’s Untitled (2009, 2017) comprises 10 sculptural elements which together divide and relight an interior space. A group of five intricately patterned screens from 2017 are constructed of hand-painted, CNC-carved wood. In hues of red, yellow or blue, abstract layers merge with impressions of Asian and Australasian cities. Complementing the screens is a group of five sculpted portraits first made in 2009, formed from rigid polycarbonate leaves and lit from within by a single bulb. The playful and everyday stances were adopted by members of Pardo’s studio and, together with their counterpart screens, create a labyrinthine study of space.
