The conga drums evokes the ever-swinging rhythm of Latin Amercian music. As a symbol of the easygoing tropical lifestyle and of Caribbean beach life, it also refers to Cuba’s colonial history and African antecedents, from which this type of drum is derived. The corporeal sensation of heat and rhythm is materialized, so that the body of the drum melts into an amorphous spill.
