In the present work, with which he wanted to demonstrate the Eurasian union, Beuys used a printing plate, which he turned into a multiple, and also used as part of the multiple "Display Boards for Instruction I and II". Above illustrations of some of Beuys' works are vertical columns of Japanese characters. The double-page spread is from an article about Beuys in a Japanese magazine. The combination points once again about the beneficial cooperation of Eastern an Western culture, which Beuys propagated. An additional meaning is conveyed by the sulfur, with which it was printed; in addition, the artist has covered a square area completely with sulfur. Beuys used sulfur, as well as felt, as a symbol for warmth, which in his understanding also signifies the power of love.
