Venue
Art Basel takes place in Halls 1 and 2 of Messe Basel in the City of Basel, Switzerland.
Hall 1: Built in 1999 by the Swiss architect and art collector
Theo Hotz, this hall hosts Art Unlimited, Art Statements,
Art Basel Conversations, Art Lobby and Artists Books.
Hall 2: A landmark building from the 1950s, built by Hans Hoffmann, the building hosts Art Galleries, Art Premiere,
Art Edition and Art Magazines.

General Public:
Wednesday, June 10, to Sunday, June 14, 2009.
Daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (except Friday, June 12, see Professional Day below)

Professional Day
Friday, June 12, 11 a.m. to 1. p.m.
The Professional Day is directed at museums, artists and collectors. For them, there will be a special program in and around the art show. This includes information and discussion forums with internationally renowned speakers. Moreover, exhibiting galleries are asked to show special exhibits and campaigns on Professional Day.

Guided Tours
Guided Tours of Art 40 Basel are available daily in German, French and English. The tours are subsidized by Art Basel and operated by gcc gmbh. To book tours contact:

Art Kids
Art Basel offers a free kindergarten and playroom for children aged 3-13, who are introduced to art while their parents visit Art 40 Basel. The children are supervised by professional, and food and drink are likewise provided free of charge.
Location: 1st floor of Hall 1, access via Art Unlimited.

Mandatory bag check
For safety reasons, all bags larger than 30 x 30 cm, briefcases and backpacks must be deposited at the coat check before entering the exhibition halls.
