The first art gallery in New York’s SoHo, Paula Cooper Gallery opened in 1968 with an exhibition benefiting the Student Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam. The show included works by Carl Andre, Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, Robert Ryman, and Sol LeWitt’s wall drawing. For five decades, the gallery’s program has focused on, though not limited to, conceptual and minimal art.
